Expertise is a typical procedural means of collecting and verifyingprivate videorecordingsin criminal proceedings. The need for special knowledge is particularly necessary not only in view of the technical suitability of the recording, but also in view of the possibility of a forensic facial comparison between the person filmed on the recording and the suspect. Thus, the expertise is a method to establish both the authorship of the criminal act and the mechanism of its commission, and in certain cases to verify other evidence collected.
