The article examines the General Theory of Law as a scientific discipline dedicated to the analysis of the legal system as a single, holistic phenomenon. Unlike specific branches of law that focus on individual norms, this science explores the universal principles, categories, and methodologies that underlie all law. By synthesizing logical, sociological, and philosophical perspectives, it establishes a fundamental basis for understanding legal validity and systemic coherence. The study demonstrates how this “metatheory” performs a critical function in connecting abstract concepts with practical application, providing the main tools for ensuring the integrity and evolution of the entire legal order.
